I have been writing poetry and prose for over 20 years & performing poetry since 2000 (see CV). My performance poetry and style has been seen as unique, strong, raw and challenging;
I present my poetry in a number of dimensions; both in a raw and uncluttered, lo-fi state and at other times (or within the same show) with recorded music or live musicians. There are times that I also incorporate film & moving image.
I am interested in creating non traditional, diverse performances that impact the word into the soul.
Apart from the new show Tales of Horror & Love which is 45 minutes, I can also deliver performances of varying length & content depending upon the situation. disembodied is also available; on its own, within a longer performance set or as an installation.
The use of film began in spring 05 when I developed a 10 minute concept piece; disembodied. I became interested in exploring the paradox in a modern society in which we have more ways to communicate and yet less intimacy; thus the idea of a series of ansamachine messages left by characters that were dead. I was fortunate to meet and collaborate with two film makers; Alban Roinard (who has gone on to create films for the new work Tales of Horror & Love) and Brian Johnson.
